How to Make Sure Apps Are Closed on Your Android

Apps running in the background on your Android phone can drain the battery. You can make sure an app you closed is not running by accessing your phone's settings. Ensuring the app was properly closed can also prevent overages for data if the running app uses data to function. If you discover an app is still running on your phone, you can take certain steps to properly close it.

Instructions

1. Press "Home" on your Android phone. Tap "Menu" to display the expanded home screen.

2. Tap "Settings," then tap "Applications."

3. Tap "Running Services" to view the list of all the applications currently running on your Android phone. Apps not listed were properly closed. If an app is listed, it is still running.

4. Highlight the app you need to close and tap "Stop." The app will be closed.
