How to Get Unlock Codes for a Sharp GX30 Mobile Phone
The Sharp GX30 is a flip-top phone that came out around 2004. If you purchased one and it is locked to a specific network, then you will not be able to use it with SIM cards from other service providers. So if you wish to switch mobile phone companies, you will need to get your phone unlocked first. This can be done by purchasing an unlock code.

Instructions

1. Turn the power on to your Sharp GX30 mobile phone. Dial *#06# into the keypad and wait for the 15- to 17-digit code to appear. When it does, write it down. This is known as the IMEI, or international mobile equipment identification number. You need this to create an unlock code.

2. Find a website that sells Sharp mobile phone unlock codes. Three that you can use are FoneZones, CellCorner and GSMLiberty. As of 2010 these stores sell their codes for between $12 and $35.

3. Provide your IMEI number, the make and model of your cell phone and, if necessary, the country and service provider that your phone is registered with. Enter your credit card or PayPal information and provide an active email address.

4. Retrieve the code from your email and write it down exactly as you see it.

5. Turn your Sharp phone off and take out the SIM card. Replace the SIM with one from a different network service provider and turn the phone back on. You will get a request to enter an unlock code.

6. Enter the code exactly as you see it and press "OK." The phone will beep, flash and restart. When it comes back on, the name of the new service provider will be at the top.
