Google Chrome stores your bookmarks, history, add-ons, preferences and other personal data in a profile folder. Each user account has their own separate Google Chrome profile. Google Chrome names these profiles "Default" by default. You can copy this profile folder to another location on your computer while Google Chrome isn't running to create a backup of your Chrome profile. You can copy this folder to the same location on a new computer to migrate your Chrome profile.
Instructions
1. Close all open Google Chrome windows.
2. Click "Start," type "Run" into the search box at the bottom of the Start menu and press "Enter."
3. Type or copy and paste "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\" into the run dialog and press "Enter."
4. Right-click the "Default" directory and click "Copy."
5. Navigate to a removable media device or another location on your computer, right-click and click "Paste" to create a copy of your profile folder.
Tips & Warnings
On Windows XP, click "Start," click "Run," type or copy and paste "%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\" into the run dialog and press "Enter."
The "Default" profile folder is located at "~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default" on Mac OS X and the "~/.config/google-chrome/Default" on Linux.
